Amendments to the Labor Code of the Republic of Armenia have been proposed, introducing an alternative mechanism for the protection of labor rights.

According to the draft law:
✅ A Labor Disputes Commission will be formed as a body for reviewing labor disputes, operating within the structure of the Inspection Authority.
✅ The Commission will consider labor disputes free of charge.
✅ Clear procedures will be established for filing applications, holding hearings, making decisions, and ensuring their enforcement.
✅ The Commission shall consider an application, with the possibility of extending the review period by an additional month.
✅ The parties to a labor dispute may choose to apply either to the Commission or directly to the court. The only exception concerns labor disputes related to strikes, which will be reviewed exclusively by the courts.

These amendments aim to create a faster and simpler mechanism for resolving labor disputes, reducing the workload of the judicial system, and promoting a cooperative approach.
