A draft law has been introduced in Armenia, which envisages gradual implementation of a mandatory comprehensive health insurance system.

A special foundation to be established by the Republic of Armenia will coordinate with medical organizations and pharmacies and administer insurance payout.

Package of Services and Payments

• Scope of Services: The insurance package will cover consulting, preventive care, treatment and medicinal services.
• Insurance premium. The mandatory annual payment to the state budget for the purpose of using the insurance package will be from AMD 120,000 to 164,400.
• Refund of insurance premium: Premiums paid by individuals will be refunded from income tax in the amount set forth by the Government, according to the income declaration.
